Teaching for over 18 years and specialising in Special Needs Education & Primary Education. I was a Targeted Graduate (1 of 2 in my graduating year) from Sydney Uni and have loved my career to date, despite the enormous challenges, stress and rewards that only other teachers will understand.
I am very passionate about learning, teacher education and started my journey of Teacher Mentoring around 2008 where I helped new teachers develop (what I like to call) their TEACHER TOOL BELT and a big focus on TEACHER WELLNESS (work life balance).
Around 2.5 years ago I was in a life changing accident that left me with injuries that took my ability to be a classroom teacher, away from me and completely devastated me. Left only with time to fill, I began researching into brain plasticity and emotion regulation to equip myself with different tools. It has been very interesting and challenging journey to say the least, and what started out as a strategy to try and unlock parts of my brain that were not working, has now become a love project of mentoring and therapy for myself.
Facing such a challenging time and near death experience, has shown me that I want share all my teacher knowledge, my tricks, tips and tools (when my brain is up to it) and work with young enthusiastic passionate teachers.
I also have found a way for other experienced teachers to join the journey and share their knowledge, skills and resources to help support, nurture and develop beginning teachers.
It would be my absolute pleasure to MENTOR YOU and help you feel confident as a teacher and find your TEACHER SUPER POWER. Helping people unlock their gifts and talent (which is what you will do as a teacher) is one of life's most precious and rewarding perks of the job!
YOU have one of the MOST IMPORTANT jobs in the world... teaching all other professions and helping them find their own strengths, gifts and talents! Mentoring will help keep your inspiration tank full and be at your best!
